(Note from the Author: I've rewritten this post a few times now and I'm still not quite happy with how I've gone into this subject, take it all with a pinch of salt and also know I've not had any 'inspiration' today - ZT)
What makes a stoner a stoner in the first place? Where is the line drawn between those that smoke a little every now and then, and people who smoke all day everyday?
The definition as by a dictionary is:
stoner (plural stoners)
- One who stones.
- A machine to remove the stones (pits) from fruit.
- (slang) A habitual user of cannabis.
Going by this definition it comes down to when does a person become a habitual user?
I personally think it's down to 'cannabis culture' and if a person is a part of that or not. Now I'm not suggesting that you have to wear hemp clothing exclusively and smoke for every 4:20 around the world (although the latter does sound fun), but more towards the things that become second nature to us smokers; I'm talking about passing to the left, offering others a bong hit before you take yours, passing a lighter when it's needed without being asked, smoking in the rain with your friends trying to convince them that "It's not that bad!", willingly walking for an hour to pick up a shitty bag but knowing how nice that first joint/bong/etc will be when you get home.
I guess it's got more of a personal feeling towards it.
I know some people that would be offended if they were called a stoner, but in the other hand there's people like me who all but embrace it and the culture I've become a part of.
